COMMUNITY

The Blue River Valley area is home to 8 neighborhoods and over 11,700 residents: North Blue Ridge, Sheffield, Blue Valley /Blue Valley Industrial, Heart of the City (Dunbar/ Leeds), Vineyard Estates, and East Hills West.

We believe a deep understanding with these communities must be part of any development effort such that their opinions are integrated into what becomes the future plan. This will happen at various touch points such as attending meetings, hosting small group workshops, one-on-one interviews, and virtual engagement.

This project area is in both the 3rd District of Kansas City, Missouri, represented by Councilman Brandon Ellington (District-at-Large) and Councilwoman Melissa Robinson, as well as the 4th District, represented by Councilwoman Katheryn Shields (District-at-Large) and Councilman Eric Bunch.

Jim Erickson, Director of Strategic Initiatives, leads this effort for the Economic Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri.
